2020 has tested our resilience and has transformed the way we live, work and play perhaps forever. At the eye of the storm the hospitality industry is facing the full impact of this new normal. The tourism, hospitality and travel sectors need to adapt and innovate to survive.
During this turbulent, fast moving period, change needs to be co-ordinated and synergies amongst the key stakeholders. Towards this end the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association (MHRA) with the support of Bank of Valetta and Deloitte, is organizing a webinar, to better assess what happened over the past months and how this is affecting the current tourism, hospitality and travel scenario, but also the prospects for the future with a specific focus on Malta and the Mediterranean region.
Dr Taleb Rifai, former Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation and Senator at the Mediterranean Tourism Foundation and MEP Elena Kountoura MEP and Former Minster for Tourism, Greece will set the scene followed by an exclusive interview to the newly appointed Minister of Tourism and Consumer Protection Hon. Clayton Bartolo.
The webinar will also include two panel discussions including Ronald Mizzi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Tourism and Consumer Protection, Gavin Gulia, Chairman, Malta Tourism Authority (MTA), Johann Buttigieg, Chief Executive Officer, Malta Tourism Authority, David. G. Curmi, Executive Chairman, Air Malta, Leslie Vella, MTA Deputy CEO and Chief Officer Strategic Development, Malta Tourism Authority, CEO, Carlo Micallef , MTA Deputy CEO and Chief Marketing Officer, Raphael Aloisio, Director, Deloitte Malta and Albert Frendo, Chief Credit Officer, Bank of Valletta. The panels will be moderated by Andrew Agius Muscat, Chief Executive Officer, Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association and Ms Michelle Fenech Seguna, Founder SpeakToMove and HR Director, The Westin Dragonara Resort.
