Healthy Meal Standard Course
Around the world, we find ourselves facing global epidemics of obesity, type 2 diabetes and other predominantly diet-related diseases. In EU, there are more than 650M people that are obese, more than 500M people have diabetes and 50% of the population struggle with heart disease. All of these people want and need to eat according to their nutritional needs. To address these public health crises, we are showing you the opportunity on how to address these issues in your tourist facility. In this course, learners will be given the information and practical skills they need to begin optimizing nutrition in their facility.
Aims
The aim of this course is to:
Give basic knowledge about nutrition for the people working in the tourism industry
Learn about the growing market of special dietary needs and how it will change the tourism in the following years
Learn about special dietary needs in different categories: how to approach, access the risk and answer the demand
Understand the Healthy Meal Standard implementation and certification process: how it can help your tourism facility and gain visibility, credibility and at the end globally accepted certificate with healthy stars

Healthy Meal Standard Basics and Implementation and Certification process
