Gibran is trying to express something sublime ...difficult if not impossible to decribe the sublime - in fact I was put firmly in my place once by a professor who explained that something "sublime" is beyond explanation - bit like God really - you may know it or feel it but not describe it .... and as the Bhudists would have it ..don't bother trying ... Full Poem:

Defeat, my Defeat, my solitude and my aloofness;
You are dearer to me than a thousand triumphs,
And sweeter to my heart than all world-glory.

Defeat, my Defeat, my self-knowledge and my defiance,
Through you I know that I am yet young and swift of foot
And not to be trapped by withering laurels.
And in you I have found aloneness
And the joy of being shunned and scorned.

Defeat, my Defeat, my shining sword and shield,
In your eyes I have read
That to be enthroned is to be enslaved,
And to be understood is to be leveled down,
And to be grasped is but to reach one’s fullness
And like a ripe fruit to fall and be consumed.

Defeat, my Defeat, my bold companion,
You shall hear my songs and my cries and my silences,
And none but you shall speak to me of the beating of wings,
And urging of seas,
And of mountains that burn in the night,
And you alone shall climb my steep and rocky soul.

Defeat, my Defeat, my deathless courage,
You and I shall laugh together with the storm,
And together we shall dig graves for all that die in us,
And we shall stand in the sun with a will,
And we shall be dangerous.

In this Tutorial I am going to show you various ways you can sharpen your knives. First with the Electric Sharpener, secondly with the Combination Stone, and finally how to keep your knife sharp and maintain a perfect edge.
Please bear in mind that electric sharpeners, although effective and quick to use, do grind your knives away quite quickly.
Lastly once you have beautifully sharp knives, do not put them in the dishwasher, as the coarse washing abrasion blunts them. After use, get into the habit of rinsing and drying your knife and placing it in a safe place. Although it's common sense, never leave your knives in a bowl of washing up water, where they may go unnoticed, you or someone else may go to into the bowl to grab something to wash and could catch the blade, and your knives will now be razor sharp.

ON THE WHISKY TRAIL quite literally takes you on a journey of discovery from the well-known blended whiskies, right through to the sophisticated Highland single-malts that represent the very best that the whisky industry can produce. With visits to distilleries, including Speysideʼs internationally acclaimed Glenfiddich, the entire process is demystified. Not only will you see some of the best known brands coming off the production line, itʼs also well worth looking out for a few of the lesser known treasures, such as a 60% proof, cask strength Whisky from the family run, Glenfarclas. Whatever your level of interest, whether you partake of the occasional wee dram or have an expert nose for the good stuff, thereʼs something here to suit every taste.
What’s the first drink that comes to mind when someone mentions Japan, the fantastic and colorful world of weirdness? It’s Sake, right? Well, it’s time for a quick re-education. A new giant is emerging in Nippon and this one is not a sea monster – it’s the increasingly beloved Japanese Whisky. This week’s episode of “A Brief History of Booze” tells the story of how Japanese Whisky became one of the best in the world.

This fun, animated video follows the history of pasta from 5th century Sicily to the present day.
In this episode of Handcrafted (fka Beautiful Butchery), the Pastaio of Eataly Flatiron, Luca D'Onofrio, shows Bon Appétit how to turn four types of pasta dough -- egg pasta dough, spinach pasta dough, cuttlefish squid ink pasta dough, and semolina pasta dough -- into beautiful, handmade pasta shapes.

Semolina pasta is a southern Italy specialty. From that dough, Luca makes cavatelli, malloreddus, lorighittas, cencioni, capunti, strascinati, culurgionis, and sagne incannulate. From the egg dough, D'Onofrio makes fusilli al ferretto, tagliatelle, tortellini, farfalle, garganelli, anolini, cappelletti, tagliolini, agnolotti, sacchetti. From the spinach dough, Luca makes foglie d'ulivo, trofie, fagiolini, and pappardelle. From the cuttlefish squid ink pasta dough, D'Onofrio makes orecchiette, strichetti, fettuccine, and corzetti.

There is real rhyme and reason for pairing certain pasta shapes with certain sauces. Pasta is designed to carry the flavors and textures of the sauce to the mouth, so a thicker meatier sauce needs a pasta shape with "pockets" like farfalle and a thiner sauce like marinara is best with a spaghetti or bucatini.

Just how much do you know about history’s greatest events, inventions & discoveries?

It’s odd to think pre-sliced bread is only 90 years old this week; a simple convenience for a basic food that’s been around for ages. In honour of the invention of the automatic bread-slicer, This Week in History is a ‘toast’ to the history of bread.
This 1946 vocational guidance film does an excellent job of surveying the baking industry as it sat in the 40’s. It shows the various steps and methods in bread making, and discusses how one trains for these jobs, and the difference between a large commercial bakery, and a small mom & pop bakery (which are rather rare anymore). The film includes footage of the full process of baking bread at the Schulze Baking Company Plant (Interstate Bakeries Corporation) in Chicago, Illinois.

These 'Your Life's Work' films are pretty funny, as they present 'qualifications' to what is needed to be a baker, which of course involves physics, chemistry and mathematics. A wide variety of bakery jobs are shown and described specifically here, like the pan loader. "The pan loader loads the dough into the pan".

CONTEXT / HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Bread is a staple food prepared from a dough of flour and water, usually by baking. Throughout recorded history it has been popular around the world and is one of the oldest artificial foods, having been of importance since the dawn of agriculture.

Proportions of types of flour and other ingredients vary widely, as do modes of preparation. As a result, types, shapes, sizes, and textures of breads differ around the world. Bread may be leavened by processes such as reliance on naturally occurring sourdough microbes, chemicals, industrially produced yeast, or high-pressure aeration. Some bread is cooked before it can leaven. Non-cereal ingredients such as fruits, nuts and fats may be included. Commercial bread commonly contains additives to improve flavor, texture, color, shelf life, and ease of manufacturing.

Bread is served in various forms with any meal of the day. It is eaten as a snack, and used as an ingredient in other culinary preparations, such as sandwiches, and fried items coated in bread crumbs to prevent sticking. It forms the bland main component of bread pudding, as well as of stuffings designed to fill cavities or retain juices that otherwise might drip out.

Bread has a social and emotional significance beyond its importance as nourishment. It plays essential roles in religious rituals and secular culture. Its prominence in daily life is reflected in language, where it appears in proverbs, colloquial expressions ("He stole the bread from my mouth"), in prayer ("Give us this day our daily bread") and in the etymology of words, such as "companion" (from Latin com "with" + panis "bread").

Bread is usually made from a wheat-flour dough that is cultured with yeast, allowed to rise, and finally baked in an oven. The addition of yeast to the bread explains the air pockets commonly found in bread. Owing to its high levels of gluten (which give the dough sponginess and elasticity), common or bread wheat is the most common grain used for the preparation of bread, which makes the largest single contribution to the world's food supply of any food.

Bread is also made from the flour of other wheat species (including spelt, emmer, einkorn and kamut). Non-wheat cereals including rye, barley, maize (corn), oats, sorghum, millet and rice have been used to make bread, but, with the exception of rye, usually in combination with wheat flour as they have less gluten.

World War 2 directly affected bread industries in the UK ant the US. Baking schools closed during this time so when the war did eventually end there was an absence of skilled bakers. This resulted in new methods being developed to satisfy the world’s desire for bread. Methods like: adding chemicals to dough, premixes and specialized machinery. Unfortunately, these old methods of baking were almost completely eradicated when these new methods were introduced and became industrialized. The old methods were seen as unnecessary and financially unsound, during this period there were not many traditional bakeries left.

Sliced bread is a loaf of bread that has been sliced with a machine and packaged for convenience. It was first sold in 1928, advertised as "the greatest forward step in the baking industry since bread was wrapped". This led to the popular phrase "greatest thing since sliced bread". During 1943, U.S. officials imposed a short-lived ban on sliced bread as a wartime conservation measure.

What is psychological capital? Who are positive employees? There has been a lot of buzz around the word “Positivity” in the past few years. This is the aftermath of positive psychology movement which emphasized the positive character strengths and psychological capacities of individuals such as optimism and resilience, rather than negative psychological states like stress and anxiety. This “positivity” drive also made inroads into organizations. Organizations of today look for individuals who possess these positive psychological capacities like hope, optimism, resilience and efficacy. These positive psychological states and character strengths are termed as psychological capital of individuals. The employees who possess these positive psychological capacities are characterized as “positive employees”. Let’s analyze what is psychological capital and what character strengths it comprises off.
Employee motivation is becoming ever more important in the workplace as time goes on, and everyone agrees that a motivated workforce is far more likely to be a successful workforce. The happier and more professional an employee is, the better the results they will deliver for you. This course will help you define motivation, the employer's role in it, and how the employee can play a part.
Performance evaluation is a social and cognitive process. Within this process there are many factors, that threaten the validity of the evaluation. Keeping a good social relation to the employee is often of higher importance than the validity of the judgement itself.
Steve Jobs: "If you wanna hire great people and have them stay working for you, you have to let them make a lot of decisions and you have to be run by ideas not hierarchy. The best ideas have to win, otherwise good people don't stay."

What is ECOTOURISM? What does ECOTOURISM mean? ECOTOURISM meaning - ECOTOURISM pronunciation - ECOTOURISM definition - ECOTOURISM explanation - How to pronounce ECOTOURISM?

Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/... license.

Ecotourism is a form of tourism involving visiting fragile, pristine, and relatively undisturbed natural areas, intended as a low-impact and often small scale alternative to standard commercial (mass) tourism. Its purpose may be to educate the traveler, to provide funds for ecological conservation, to directly benefit the economic development and political empowerment of local communities, or to foster respect for different cultures and for human rights. Since the 1980s ecotourism has been considered a critical endeavor by environmentalists, so that future generations may experience destinations relatively untouched by human intervention.:33 Several university programs use this description as the working definition of ecotourism.

Generally, ecotourism deals with living parts of the natural environments. Ecotourism focuses on socially responsible travel, personal growth, and environmental sustainability. Ecotourism typically involves travel to destinations where flora, fauna, and cultural heritage are the primary attractions. Ecotourism is intended to offer tourists insight into the impact of human beings on the environment, and to foster a greater appreciation of our natural habitats.

Responsible ecotourism programs include those that minimize the negative aspects of conventional tourism on the environment and enhance the cultural integrity of local people. Therefore, in addition to evaluating environmental and cultural factors, an integral part of ecotourism is the promotion of recycling, energy efficiency, water conservation, and creation of economic opportunities for local communities. For these reasons, ecotourism often appeals to advocates of environmental and social responsibility.

The term 'ecotourism', like 'sustainable tourism', is considered by many to be an oxymoron. Like most forms of tourism, ecotourism generally depends on air transportation, which contributes to global climate change. Additionally, "the overall effect of sustainable tourism is negative, where, like ecotourism, philanthropic aspirations mask hard-nosed immediate self-interest." Ecotourist is different from a Tourist in the sense that, he or she is mindful of his environment, in most cases contributing to the sustainability of such surroundings.

Hector Ceballos is the Director General of the Program of International Consultancy on Ecotourism (PICE) and a Special Advisor on Ecotourism to IUCN (The World Conservation Union), and the World Tourism Organization (WTO).

Ecotourism is proving to be a very important component in protected areas management around the world. Strictly speaking, ecotourism is the only type of tourism that should be allowed in protected areas. All management plans should include strict guidelines for developing ecotourism activities within national parks and other natural protected areas, including development of appropriate physical infrastructure and facilities. An updated overview of developments in selected countries from around the world is given.

What is SPORTS TOURISM? What does SPORTS TOURISM mean? SPORTS TOURISM meaning - SPORTS TOURISM definition - SPORTS TOURISM explanation.

Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/... license.

Sports tourism refers to travel which involves either observing or participating in a sporting event staying apart from their usual environment. Sport tourism is a fast-growing sector of the global travel industry and equates to $7.68 billion.

There are several classifications on sport tourism. Gammon and Robinson suggested that the sports tourism are defined as Hard Sports Tourism and Soft Sports Tourism, while Gibson suggested that there are three types of sports tourism included Sports Event Tourism, Celebrity and Nostalgia Sport Tourism and Active Sport Tourism.

The "hard" definition of sport tourism refers to the quantity of people participating at a competitive sport events. Normally these kinds of events are the motivation that attract visitors visits the events. Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, F1 Grand Prix and regional events such as NASCAR Sprint Cup Series could be described as hard sports tourism.

The "soft" definition of sports tourism is when the tourist travels to participate in recreational sporting, or signing up for leisure interests. Hiking, Skiing and Canoeing can be described as soft sports tourism. Perhaps the most common form of soft sports tourism involves golf in regards to destinations in Europe and the United States. A large number of people are interested in playing some of the world's greatest and highest ranked courses, and take great pride in checking those destinations off of their list of places to visit.

Sport event tourism refers to the visitors who visit a city to watch events. The two events that attract the most tourists worldwide are the Olympics and the FIFA World Cup. These events held once every four years, in a different city in the world. Sports tourism in the United States is more focused on events that happen annually. The major event for the National Football League is the Super Bowl, held at the end of the year in different city every year. The National Hockey League started the annual NHL Winter Classic game in 2008, this annual New Year's outdoor hockey game has become a huge hit, rivaling the championship Stanley Cup Tournament in popularity. It has revitalized the NHL. The newest trend in college basketball is to start the season off with annual tournaments such as the Maui Invitational held in Hawaii, and the Battle for Atlantis which is played in the Bahamas. This idea of pairing quality sports events with the Bahamas attractions, raised the islands’ profile and brought in more visitors and dollars to the country. The Battle for Atlantis brought more than 5,000 fans in during Thanksgiving week for the three-day tournament. The event helped increase hotel capacity from what is typically around 60 percent this time of year to 90 percent. sports tourism "is a growing market and many different cities and countries want to be involved,”

Celebrity and nostalgia sport tourism involves visits to the sports halls of fame and venue and meeting sports personalities in a vacation basis.

Active sport tourism refers to those who participate in the sports or events.

Looking for a job is exhausting – physically, mentally and emotionally. Physically, a job search takes time, hours per week on a regular basis for months. Mentally, you need to stay on top of the industries and companies you are targeting, the people you have met and where you are in the process for various jobs. Emotionally, there will be ups and downs as some applications turn into interviews, but some go nowhere.

Heading off signs of burnout ensures that you continue your job search efforts at a regular cadence, rather than start and stop. Regular and ongoing action will best help you land a new role.

Here are five ways to avoid burnout during your job search.
If you’re in a job search or plan to be soon, you know that the stakes are high in this competitive market. The current pandemic has changed up the game in new ways, so there are a few additional things you need to be ready for if you want to stand out and secure a great next step in your career.

In today’s marketing world, presence on social media should not be considered an extra but a necessity.

In this video we are going to look at the largest social media platforms and how your Hospitality Property can benefit by using.

We are going to look at Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and Google +.

We will also “The Complete Guide to Operating an Independent Hotel or Bed & Breakfast “Training Course.

The “The Complete Guide to Operating an Independent Hotel or Bed & Breakfast” Training Course, will include in-depth step-by-step videos, ebooks and checklists on setting up an organizational strategy, management strategy, outsourcing, employee hiring & firing, training, communication, techniques, customer service, handling complaints, upselling, marketing, branding, email strategy, social media, property improvements, trends plus much, much more.

As a member of the “How to Improve your Independent Hotel or Bed & Breakfasts Success” group we would like to present to you a special offer.
The last few months I have spent many hours on my computer visiting many websites of Independent Hotels and Bed & Breakfasts. The purpose was to see what sites were working and which were not.

During this research, I was surprised with something I noticed. How many hospitality properties do not have a social media presence and I don’t just mean on their website but no Twitter, Facebook or YouTube accounts at all.

I was also surprised to see how many hospitality properties do not have a way to collect email addresses on their websites or were mobile phone friendly.
I have asked a couple of hospitality property owners about this and was given a number of reasons such as, “I don’t know how they work”, “ I don’t have the time to spend online”, and one actually said “If people what to stay here, they can find me”.

If the sale of room nights is not a problem, than there is no reason to worry about social media but if you want to improve your sales and increase return business, then social media is crucial.
The will be extra work but as I said in an earlier post “short term pain for long-term gain”.

Let me share some statistics with you. I have gathered these from statisticbrain.com which is used by such organizations such as Forbes, CNN, ABC, The Huffington Post as a research tool, from socialmediadd.com and youtube.com/statistics. (http://www.youtube.com/yt/press/stati...)

They are visual-sharing social networking sites where you can upload photos and images for other people to see. What is the difference between Pinterest & Instagram?

Welcome to another edition of hospitality property school.

I’m your instructor Gerry MacPherson and today we are going to talk about Pinterest and Instagram and which is the better platform to use to market your hospitality property.

The first thing we should do is explain the difference between the Pinterest and Instagram platforms?

They are visual-sharing social networking sites where you can upload photos and images for other people to see. The main distinction lies in the fact that people use them differently.
Instagram is about sharing your own photos, Pinterest is about curation.

Let’s look at some facts & figures about Pinterest

Pinterest Company Statistics
Total number of Pinterest users 73,500,000
Number of daily visitors 1,360,000
Percent of Pinterest visitors that are mobile only 35 %
Number of Pinterest business accounts 575,000
Monthly Pinterest pageviews 2,500,000,000
Percent of American online adult women that use Pinterest
44 %
Percent of American online adult men that use Pinterest 28 %

The images or pins as they are known can be placed on thematic “boards” that can be customised by the user for any topic. Pinterest is all about selecting, organising, and looking for images.

Now, let’s look at some facts & figures about Instagram

Instagram Company Statistics

Total number of Instagram users 500,235,000

Total number of photos shared on Instagram 34,700,000,000

Average number of likes per day 1,650,000,000
Percent of Instagram users located outside the US 60 %

Total videos uploaded to Instagram in the first 24 hours of the video addition 5,000,000

Men and women are more evenly represented with 50 percent of the active users outside the US. Two-thirds are between the ages of 18 and 34 and popularity noticeably drops with the older demographic.
Small independent hospitality properties can benefit from a Facebook presence. It’s a great opportunity to drive visitors to your website & increase bookings.

Create a Successful Blog for Your Property, build trust with your audience, and increase your customer base & profit.

Today we are going to talk about how to create a successful blog and spend a couple minutes explaining a few things for you to get started and share with you some of the initial mistakes bloggers make.

You have to decide the reason you want to write a blog.

Take a moment to ask yourself these questions:
• Why is your property blog worthy?
• What story supports this property?
• Who would share your passion?
• Are your employees aligned with this passion?

After you have answered these, start brainstorming:

Who are your target guests?

Once you know who your ideal customer is, do a little research into their behaviour and then you can adapt your blog accordingly.

Some places you can start this type of research include:

• Q & A forums ie. Quora, & Yahoo! Answers
• Social media ie. Groups of social media sites
• Tools for getting content for your potential customers ie. BuzzSumo.com & Topsy.com
• Blog comments on other blogs your potential customers might read. What type of content are they already engaging with on other blogs?

Your Competition

Compile a list of 5-10 of your closest or the same type of competitors with blogs, audit their content and see what is working.

Targeting Keywords

Create a list of 5-10 keyword groups you want to rank for and with them the associated long-tail keywords you can include in blog content.

If you are new to this go to google support for more info on keywords and keyword planning.

For your hospitality property to be competitive, social media and an online presence are imperative.

I’m your host Gerry MacPherson and today we are going to talk about why social media is important to your business.

I have asked a couple of hospitality property owners about this and was given a number of reasons such as,
In this video, we look at four different leadership frameworks and styles, each of which can be applied to various situations.

Watch the video to find out more.
How do I use social media to generate hotel business?

Which social media platforms are the best for my hotel business?

In our last podcast I put out a call to find out what you would be interested in hearing more about.

I had mentioned that, Keystone HDC has produced 34 hospitality property podcasts with information, tips, and hopefully lots of food for thought for you but these were themes based on problems we had seen in different hospitality properties.

The call out in the last podcast was to give you a chance to ask specifics questions and something that came out loud and clear is that more time should be spend on marketing; specifically, social media.

In episode #8 I talked a little about social media and gave statistics on couple of different platforms. I had also mentioned in the past how we as customers in our everyday lives, rely more and more on our computers and smartphones to gather information.

I firmly believe that a hospitality property having a social media presence should not be something to consider down the road but is a must in your current marketing plan.
So I know some of you might be thinking “I have no idea where to start.”

I thought we would take some time to look at the current major platforms available.

Facebook
Facebook is the most common among all the social media marketing tools and through Facebook Advertising you can be very specific on who you target with your marketing.
But don’t think that throwing money Facebook Advertising is all you have to do. This is a platform where you have to build trust. People aren't going to automatically trust you when all they see is advertising and promotions coming from you. You need to build that trust by doing things like sharing valuable content, news about your property, and information about what is going on in your region. By developing a rapport, people will begin to see you as an expert in your field, on your region and in the hospitality industry and then will be more interested in spending money with you.

Twitter
Twitter is quick, frequent and tends to have an intelligent audience ready to make quick decisions. With over 645 million registered users, twitter is a sea of information waiting to be read, followed, and re-tweeted which is great for grabbing people's attention quickly, driving more people to your web page.
While it's a great way to share quick thoughts and generate traffic to your website and offers, building relationships with followers is nearly impossible to do. With Twitter people will follow you because they like what you have to say.

LinkedIn
LinkedIn is definitely different from the rest of the social media outlets out there when it comes to business. Instead of just connecting with individuals themselves such as clients or customers, you can connect with other business as a whole. This can be very beneficial if you wish to target business clientele.

There is not much in the way of conversation on LinkedIn as on other social media marketing sites, but you do have the ability to join groups or communities where you can ask questions and engage in conversations.

Those are the 3 platforms we will look at today, next week we will check out YouTube, Pinterest, instagram and Google +.

Design your website to tell your story & if guests feel like they are part of that story, they will help build your brand into a big name.
Welcome to another edition of hospitality property school.

I’m your host Gerry MacPherson and today we are going to talk about creating an effective website

In this age of the Internet and social media, having a website is essential to developing your properties brand. It's fine to present your business in the flesh and traditional media, but if you don't at least have a website, you'll be seen as old-fashioned and unapproachable.

The look of your website will influence guests on the type of property you are. If your website looks dull and boring, potential guests will think your property is dull and boring; if your website is vibrant and fun, guests will think your property is vibrant and fun.

Let’s start with your domain name.

Your domain name should be your website name. Now, this might seem obvious to some of you, but you would be surprised at how many hospitality properties I have seen that has a domain name that is not the same or does not reflect the name of their property.

When marketing your property, the first thing you want is people to think of your properties name and almost 100% of the time when searching your property online people will use that name.

What are better long or short domain names?

Domain names should never be longer than 67 characters and I would include spaces in that length.

Choosing your web host

When choosing a web host you have many options. Companies such as hostgator.com or godaddy.com are popular and full service but it is worth the time to ask and shop around for the host that will best serve your needs.

There is free web host out there but most have advertising that could take away from your site's design or contain hidden text on its pages without your knowledge. This could lead to your website being penalised by the search engines through no fault of your own. I would stay clear of free sites.

Once you have settled your domain name and web host, the next step is to design the website itself.

Your options include:

If your hands on or have an employee that is comfortable with program coding you can use a responsive web design program to build a site such as Adobe’s Dreamweaver or a free version called Kompzer.

Use WordPress. It is an open source website publishing platform with a wide variety of both free and fee themes that will meet almost everyone’s design wish.

Another option is to hire a professional website designer.

The first thing you should do is put your thoughts on paper, look at what other successful sites look like.

Use the KISS formula- Keep It Simply Simple.

While you are sketching ask yourself these questions.
There are four key components you should consider when you want to improve your visual branding for social media success.

Welcome to another edition of hospitality property school.

I’m your host Gerry MacPherson and in our last session talked about choosing your visual branding. Today, we are going to continue our discussion about choosing your visual branding.

In the last session, I had mentioned that there are four key components you should consider when you want to improve your visual branding for social media success.

The first two were,

• consistent colours
• fonts

In today’s session, I’ll talk about the next two components you need to consider. They are

• imagery
• layouts

Imagery

When using images make sure you stick to a consistent theme and by that, I mean the same type of look. You don’t want some images blurry for effect and then others with a red tinge. Some companies might use fuzzy edges all are images or a sun filter to give their pictures a summery feel. I’m not going to say one is better than the other, but whatever you choose, stay with it. Even if you’re using your own photos, stay consistent with your theme.

I do highly encourage you to use images of your property as often as possible, but I understand that it might not be possible every time you post. If you’re going to mention attractions or things to see in your region, use those images.

If you’re going to be customising or working on your own images, the program we use is Adobe’s Photoshop. This course is perfect if you want to turn your images into a professional photographer quality.

Social media layouts
The world of marketing is increasingly visual, & with sites like Pinterest and Instagram growing fast, choosing your visual branding is imperative.

Welcome to another edition of hospitality property school.

I’m your instructor Gerry MacPherson and today we are going to talk about choosing your hospitality properties visual branding.

The new world of marketing is increasingly visual, so it is no surprise that social network sites like Pinterest and Instagram are growing fast.

So, how can you, as a hospitality property owner influence an increasingly visual social atmosphere?

By applying a strong visual branding strategy for your property on social media.

Visual branding on social media refers to what your content looks like; images of your property, your profile picture, and your cover photo. Excellent visuals on social media platforms are important because the human brain is wired to read and understand images better and faster than words and visual content increases social interaction.

According to a Socialbakers study, images on Facebook constitute 93% of the most engaging posts compared with status updates and links?

So what do we have to do?

There are four key components to help improve your visual branding social media success. In this video, we will look at the first two.

• consistent colours
• fonts

I’ll talk about these components and you’ll see some examples.

Consistent colours

Take a look at any well-known company brand and you’ll see them use the same colours in all their marketing; in their logo, text and images. It is OK for you to use the same techniques.

When deciding on your visual branding, take 2 to 4 colours and use them for all your social media and marketing. By using the same colours over and over again, customers will become familiar with your properties brand.

Colour plays a huge role in influencing what we do and purchase because we are visual creatures so the colours you pick should reflect your properties brand.

Once you pick your colours, you should know their colour code or “hex code”.

If you are not sure what it is, visit http://html-color-codes.info/, find your colour on the “HTML colour picker” and your hex code will show the hash mark symbol.

By knowing your hex codes and using them in all your marketing and social media, you will be able to use the same colours over and over again.

Pick fonts that match your properties personality
Why you should create a LinkedIn page, attract followers, post your hospitality properties updates including what makes your business unique to drive bookings.

Welcome to another edition of hospitality property school.

Today we are going to talk about LinkedIn and your business.

Many hospitality property owners and managers, (hotels, inns, resorts and bed & breakfast) I have spoken with, feel that LinkedIn is a platform they do not need to be on.

So why should you as a hospitality property owner/manager consider using LinkedIn as a social media platform. If you want to attract other businesses. For example

• Business travellers
• Meeting room rentals
• Company parties
• Suppliers
• Looking for quality employees
Just to name a few

Check out these stats…

LinkedIn Company Profile
Total number of LinkedIn users 313,000,000
Number of monthly unique visitors to LinkedIn 187,000,000
Number of people who received an interview 122,070,000
Number of people who have been hired 35,522,000
Number of new LinkedIn members per second 2
Percent of LinkedIn users that use the free version 90.9 %
Percent of users that have a complete profile 50.5 %
Percent of users who check LinkedIn daily 39 %

What are some of the other benefits of a LinkedIn Company Page?
Here are 7

1) A LinkedIn company page provides your business with the opportunity to tell your hospitality properties story, engage with followers, share career opportunities, and scale your word of mouth marketing. It is also an equally effective tool for generating new business leads and nurturing referral relationships.

2) Creating quality, shareable content that benefits your readers your viewers become engaged advocates of your company and expand your global reach and influence.
To be successful, a hospitality property owner needs a blogging strategy that allows time to create high-quality content that shows them as an expert & leader.

Today we are going to talk about how to create a successful blog.

Let me give you 16 more reasons why you should blog.

1. You learn new things, about yourself and your region

When you’re blogging you are sharing what you know and see, and want the world to know and see.

You might have the most amazing things to offer your guests but unless you tell them about it, they might never find out. It’s like having a priceless artefact in a dark room unless you say something – no one will know.

2. Blogging helps you focus

It helps you grow your thinking muscles and you will learn to reflect more deeply.

3. It helps you write better

It will be challenging, especially in the beginning but making time to write consistently helps you become a better writer. I this age of blast emails and texting, good writing seems to become a lost art so many of your readers will appreciate the effort.

4. It helps you break out of your shell

Blogging will help you build confidence. You learn to recognise and build your strength, and also admit and improve on your weaknesses.

5. It challenges you??

The hospitality industry can be very challenging but sometimes you can get lost in the day to day operation and lose focus.

Blogging can be a release that will allow you to step back, refocus and let you see your day to day issues more clearly.

6. It is an inexpensive way to market

Anyone can start a blog for free and even self-host which is affordable for almost anyone.

7. It helps you build a client base

People are attracted towards things and places they get value from. When you start a blog and start creating value and building an audience, that audience could soon become paying guests.

8. It disciplines you

Blogging helps you cultivate discipline. I have to admit that making time to sit down and write can be a pain, but once I sit at my desk and shut out all distractions, I get into a zone and the time and words fly.

I’m thankful for it because it’s made me more organised.
In our last podcast I talked a little bit about social media platforms, specifically, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. This week I will continue with four more major social media platforms.

Understand the range of benefits YouTube can bring business is why you need this video platform to promote your Hospitality Property.

Welcome to another edition of hospitality property school.

Today we are going to talk about Marketing on YouTube

As an independent hospitality property owner, you should understand the importance of marketing and are constantly thinking of ways to get your properties name in front of as many people as possible, without going broke.

Using YouTube for your business can be an economical way to grow if used frequently as part of your marketing strategy.

Some of the benefits include:

Take advantage of the YouTube masses

YouTube has now reached 4 billion video views per day. If you use YouTube for your business, you can target and reach your audience, by creating videos and advertising on other videos that complement your property.

YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine in the world and the 3rd most visited website worldwide, behind only Google and Facebook.

Video-streaming platforms like YouTube have become so vital to marketing, as long as you educate, entertain and provide solutions to your potential guest’s problems, you’re guaranteed to find a group of people who will become your fans and customers.

Using YouTube Will Help You Get Found On Google

Other ways to benefit from YouTube
1. Share your videos

Get other website owners to embed your videos on their websites by cross-promoting with them.

Every time someone embeds your video on their website, Google gives more credibility to your websites.

2. Create a YouTube channel for your brand

When you create a channel for your videos, you are telling YouTube that you are the official representation of your brand on YouTube.

This makes it easier to find you when someone is searching your brand or related terms.

3. Share your videos on other platforms
And encourage others to share. Social media metrics are a factor taken into consideration by Google when ranking pages. If they are high-quality videos, others will share, and this will tell Google that you are producing content that is valuable to your target audience.

4. Give your audience options
Include text, video illustrations and activate closed caption (once you learn how to do this, make sure you check the text to make sure it is accurate). This will increase the overall engagement.
Twitter is a powerful tool that can greatly benefit your hospitality properties brand by reaching out to your followers & providing enormous public relations.

Welcome to another edition of hospitality property school.

Today we are going to talk about how Market Successfully on Twitter.

So with many social media options available why should you consider Twitter as a marketing option?

The key to being successful on Twitter is sharing the right information, whether it’s your links or other content.

If you are considering Twitter as a part of your marketing strategy, here are a few interesting facts.

Twitter Company Statistics

Total number of registered Twitter users 695,750,000
Total number of active Twitter users 342,000,000
Number of new Twitter users signing up every day 135,000
Number of unique Twitter site visitors every month 195 million
Average number of tweets per day 58 million
Number of Twitter search engine queries every day 2.1 billion
Percent of Twitter users who use their phone to tweet 43 %
Percent of tweets that come from third-party applicants 60%
Number of active Twitter users every month 115 million
Percent of Twitters who don’t tweet but watch 40%
Number of days it takes for 1 billion tweets 5 days
Number of tweets that happen every second 9,100

What are some of the other reasons you should consider using Twitter as a marketing tool?

• Communication
Twitter is an easy way to keep your followers up to date with current information about your hospitality property. It also lets followers communicate with you.

• Generating Leads
Tweeting about special offers or events can encourage your followers to find out more, potentially leading to bookings.

• Showing your brand's personality
Twitter is a chance to liven up your properties image.

• Researching trends
Searching or following tweets can give you an idea of trends and topics that Twitter users are interested in.

• Seeking feedback
Many hospitality properties use Twitter, to invite online feedback, reviews or comments.

• Providing customer service
For Twitter-savvy customers, asking questions and getting services via Twitter is very convenient.

Some things to think about when tweeting

Your goal must be to develop the best working system of the model and when it’s complete your system must work like clockwork.

Welcome to another edition of hospitality property school.

I’m your host Gerry MacPherson and today we are going to talk about what you should include in your operation manual.

The material could vary a little bit from property to property but the frame or structure I’m going to share with you is universal.

It should include the following:

 Company History, Vision & Organization
 Products & Services
 Policies
 Position Statements
 Systems (how it’s done)

“Statistically 9 out of every 10 businesses fail within the first five years.

75% or more of franchises succeed. “

This is why you should not look at your property, as an independent business but as a franchise.

A major component of every successful franchise is their operations manual.

If you’re a small independent hotel, Inn, Bed & Breakfast, or resort the chances of you succeeding increase dramatically if you take the time to develop an operations manual.

As I mentioned in the last video, your Operations Manual should be treated it like a living, breathing entity and can be amended accordingly as trial and error findings are made. When designing this Manual, you must always have in the back your mind,

“Can I open a second location with his Manual model and not have any problems?”

or

“Can I open 10 locations that this Manual model and not have any problems?”

or

“Can I open 1000 locations that are the Manual model and not have any problems?”

Your goal must be to develop the best working system of the model and when it’s complete your system must work like clockwork.

So, what should go in your Operations Manual model?

I’m your host Gerry MacPherson and today we are going to talk about setting up your properties organisational structure.

So, you had made a conscious decision in the past to operate a Hotel, Inn, a Bed & Breakfast or resort.

The idea of being your own boss was really appealing.

Spending days chatting with your guests, sharing stories, being known far and wide as the friendly innkeeper.

It was a delightful and romantic vision.

To be fair, occasionally you do have days like that but more often than not you find yourself in your office; taking care of the accounting; replacing staff; trying to put a marketing plan in place. Trying to keep your rooms filled.

Your time for chit-chatting with guests is becoming less and less. You’re feeling tired but the idea of taking a day off is not always possible.

You feel like you have to be on site or things will fall apart. The romantic vision you had when you began now feels like an unrealistic notion.

Does any of this sound familiar?

If you can relate to any of this, then it is time for you to step back and re-evaluate your properties organisational structure.

So, how do you do this?

I’m your host Gerry MacPherson and today we are going to talk about Mission Statements.

Over the years, I have asked many Independent Hotel, Inn, Bed & Breakfasts and resort owners if they had a mission statement, why they wanted to be in the hospitality property industry and I’ve heard a range of answers.

 I love people

 The service industry is wonderful

 It’s a great way to make money and on and on and on.

Do you think these answers good are enough to inspire employees and guests to take action?

I feel, with these answers, it would be hard to inspire anyone to get excited and take action. To promote your property or book a room.

Welcome to Stadthaushotel in Hamburg, where the customer is king and the staff is truly special. Many of the employees in Europe's first 'integration hotel' have mental or physical disabilities. Claudia Peterson has Down syndrome and a qualified position. Without her work, the hotel would cease to run. In fact, the hotel was founded by parents of disabled children, who wanted to give their kids the possibility to live independently.
This week Insight looks at whether more people with disabilities should be working – and what’s standing in the way. So what are the hurdles? Practicalities? Attitudes of employers? Or the attitudes of the job seekers themselves?

Learn a few Indian customs with these tips to avoid any unintentional rudeness.

Step 1: Use titles
Use the titles of your Indian counterparts, or address them as "Mr.," "Mrs.," or "Miss." Exchange business cards at the beginning of a meeting, which is standard Indian business etiquette.

Tip
The western habit of whistling to get someone's attention is considered impolite in India. Winking may also be interpreted as offensive, and even sexual.

Step 2: Conduct with respect
Conduct yourself with respect that reassures Indian businesspeople that your intentions are trustworthy and sincere. This includes reining in the western tendency to be aggressive, which, in India, can be taken for disrespect.

Step 3: Give gifts attention
Decline expensive gifts if you can. When you can't, accept the gift with both hands. Set aside a wrapped gift until the giver leaves, which is considered proper etiquette.

Tip
Avoid motioning to someone with a palm up or by wagging one finger, which is an insult. Standing with your hands on your hips is also considered an aggressive posture.

Step 4: Be sensitive to culture
Accept all food and drink during business meetings, even if you elect only to nibble at it.

Step 5: Know what they eat
Remember that Hindus don't eat beef, and Muslims don't eat pork. Many Indians are entirely vegetarian. Be sensitive to a predominant cultural and religious inclination toward vegetarianism and a general abstention from alcohol or cigarettes. Indians prefer business lunches to business dinners, by and large.

Step 6: Go along to get along
Go along with a general disregard for punctuality. Relax and be flexible with them and business will go swimmingly.

00:00 Introduction

00:23 Table manners are actually something your parents taught you but are actually far more important as an adult. First of all, your table manners speak volumes about your refinement and it's often interpreted as a sign of character. It's not at all about being snobby or showing off but much rather show respect, your host and your dining partners will greatly appreciate your manners.

It's very important to keep in mind, proper table manners aways help you and never hurt you. The good thing is they can be learned and its never too late to do so.

So what are table manners?

02:31 I suggest you turn your cell phone ringer off when you enter someone else's home and put your phone in your pocket when you're with the guests. Don't leave your phone on the table because you are much more likely to pick it up and look at it which is impolite In the presence of other people.

02:46 If the table is all set, you don't just walk in and sit down. Wait to be seated or wait for the queue of the host, or if they sit, you can sit as well.

02:56 Ideally, want to sit up straight but comfortably, don't slouch, or cross your arms, or sit as you would on your couch while watching a football game.

03:07 Don't expect to sit next to your partner and follow the lead of the hosts. Traditionally, couples were always mixed up to sit with different people.

03:23 If there's a napkin on the plate or next to a plate, put it on your lap right away. If the host or hostess wants to say grace, accept the gesture for what it is, and move along.

03:39 Two, let's take a look at the place setting. In the Western world, an informal place will always have at least a plate, a knife, and a fork. If dessert will be served, you'll find either a little fork or a spoon on the top side of the plate. If soup is served or anything else that requires a spoon, you will also have a spoon. On the top right of the plate, you'll likely find a water glass which is always filled and a wine glass which is empty, to begin with. Sometimes you also find beer glasses; if you prefer that, if that's what's served with a meal. If you see little plate with an extra knife on a top left to your plate, that's for bread and butter. When you're done with the course, you place the fork and a knife at a four to five o'clock angle that means you're done.

05:26 Three, now it's time to serve the food. Most informal dinners are family-style meaning there are bowls or platters where food is served from. For formal dinners, courses are usually plated but we talk about the intricacies of that in our formal dining etiquette video here.

With bowls and anything at the table, the cardinal rule is, don't reach over anybody else and don't touch them. To start, pass the bowl around the table from the left to the right when you get the bowl you hold it and you serve yourself then you pass it on to your neighbor on the right. Always use the serving utensils and never your silverware that's on your place setting. Of course, if the host or hostess has a different idea, go with what they do.

06:57 Four, finally it's time to eat. You should only start eating when everyone else has been served and a host or hostess starts to take their fork and take the lead. It is very impolite and sometimes even rude to just dig into your plate of food while the others are still empty-handed.

The best hotels offer guests unique local experiences, says jury members for the AHEAD Asia hospitality awards, in this movie produced by Dezeen.

Now in their second year, the AHEAD Asia 2018 awards were presented in a ceremony at the Andaz hotel in Singapore earlier this month, celebrating the best in hospitality design from across the continent.

In this movie, which Dezeen filmed in Singapore for AHEAD, the judges claim that design was just one of the things they were looking out for when assessing the submitted entries.

"More and more of what we do is not about the things that go in the space," says Wimberly Interiors director Christine McGinnis in the film.

"It's really about how it makes people feel and part of that is the notion of the local context. People are looking to take something away from their stay or their experience. They want to learn something."
Hotel design involves the planning, drafting, design and development of hotels. The concept of hotel design is rooted in traditions of hospitality to travellers dating back to ancient times, and the development of many diverse types of hotels has occurred in many cultures. For example, the advent of rail travel in the early 1900s led to the planning, design and development of hotels near railroad stations that catered to rail travelers. Hotels around Grand Central Terminal in New York City are an example of this phenomenon. Hotel interior design and styles are very diverse, with numerous variations existent.

Numerous types of hotel designs exist in the world. Examples of hotel designs include guest palaces across Asia, English country inns, hotel-casino resorts, designer and art hotels, hotel-spa resorts, boutique hotels, "no-frills" hotels that offer very basic amenities at budget rates, basic rooming houses, monasteries offering refuge and spare bedrooms rented out in ordinary homes. Another type is capsule hotels, which are offered in Japan as an option for those who just need the basic necessities during their stay. Historically, the development of lodging areas and facilities was sometimes driven by their physical locations, such as at river crossings, at major trading posts or in locations lending themselves to defense, such as forts or castles. Property location continues to be a key consideration in hotel design in contemporary times. Many hotels throughout the United States cater to either tourists or residents. Visitors of the hotel have the options ranging from renting a room for one night or renting a suite for a month. Though residential hotels aren't as popular today as they were in the past, they still provide a significant amount of America's homes.

Contemporary hotel design can be sophisticated, involving specialist architects and designers, environmental and structural engineers, interior designers and skilled contractors and suppliers, particularly for large, intricate projects. Hotel design can involve the refurbishment of an existing building already used for lodging, the conversion of a building previously used for another purpose or the construction of new buildings. USA based Newport Design Group is considered among the Top Design Firms specializing in branded hotels for many of the top franchises. Other firms include HOK, Gensler and WATG.

Hotel design involves planning regarding the estimated client needs for the facility along with the designers' vision. Hotel buildings may have several various functions, including restaurants, outdoor facilities and swimming pools, fitness centers and spas. Contemporary hotel design involves effectively integrating these various aspects of hotel operations within a location to minimize interference with one another. For example, hotel design includes considerations to avoid guests being inundated with excessive noise and the movement of people. Hotels are usually designed from the inside-out to ensure the practical functionality and relationship of its parts.

Hotel designers bring to their work their own cultural mores and need to understand the culture in which the hotel will operate if working outside their native environment. Due to travel becoming international in scope, links with local traditions in many hotel designs have been weakened, and ‘International’ has become a style in its own right. Some hotels base their operations with a theme of vernacular local traditional styles, while others have modernist stylistic designs.

Hotel design ranges from basic variables, such as the appropriate height for bed head light switches to the more specialized, such as the right layout for a kitchen or the sightlines from reception areas to enable control and protection of entry to rooms. The pace of change in hotel design has, as in most areas of modern life, increased with the development of innovative technology.

Despite cultural variations, hotels commonly function to provide a welcome environment that supports the comfort of its guests for work, rest and relaxation.

Today, we talk about restaurant etiquette or how to dine out like a gentleman without embarrassing yourself or committing any faux pas. Restaurant dining presents an interesting human dynamic similar to flying in an airplane, you're in a public space and you have to behave in a way so others around you are comfortable and you are, too. Also, dining in a restaurant represents a lot of a person's etiquette and social skills and because of that, it's very popular with employers to take potential employees or key leadership people out to a restaurant to see how they behave. So without further ado, let's walk through the essential restaurant etiquette that you can apply for business dinner, celebrations, events, or dates. Before you even step inside the restaurant, there are a few things to consider beforehand.

Rule number 1, make sure you can afford it so you don't stretch yourselves too thin, financially. Eating out isn't cheap, especially in a group situation, it can be sometimes awkward to split bills or come up with something so just going to a restaurant with a mindset of ordering water and the cheapest appetizers won't always work.

Also, if you've specific food preferences like gluten-free or if you're allergic to seafood or anything else, make sure the restaurant can accommodate that because having a long ordeal with the waiter isn't the best solution. Most importantly, make a reservation. It's the easiest way to skip a line. If the restaurant doesn't accept the reservation, it's maybe not the best place to go out for a business dinner or a date because it's completely embarrassing to wait with a business guest or a date and you have zero control about how long it's gonna take or not.

Now, in a restaurant, there are typically a few modifications. First of all, while at a private home, the silverware for the entire meal will be laid out on the table, that's not the case at a restaurant. Typically, servers bring you the appropriate silverware for your course, maybe the spoon for the soup or a steak knife for the meat. If there is a lot of silverware on the table, it means you start from the outside and work your way in. Also in the US, you will often find two forks and one knife; that means they'll bring you another knife for your main course or sometimes they want you to reuse your knife. Personally, I always like to have new utensil for every course so I don't mix any flavors. If you need more silverware, simply ask, they are always happy to accommodate you.

If you travel abroad, try to understand a tipping culture. In Germany, it's okay to round up and more is not expected. In Japan, it's downright rude and people won't accept your tip even if you offered it to them. Once you've paid, depart in a reasonable amount of time. In the US, typically, restaurants have multiple seatings a night so I would say 30 minutes after you paid is a good time to leave. If they're not busy and there are many open tables, you can stay as long as you want.

Hotel tech stack and hospitality tech mindset you need in 2020 with Scott Dahl
In today’s video, we talk to Scott Dahl, the program director of the master's in hospitality strategy and digital transformation at the La Roche School of Global Hospitality.

We will discuss the hotel tech stack and hospitality tech mindset you need in 2020 with Scott. It will give you a better idea of how you can use technology to improve your operations and distribution. Having a fitting and well-developed hotel tech stack is necessary and key to your success, especially in today’s digital era.

Think of it this way. You might have a wonderful customer service or an amazing suite that offers a beautiful view of a landscape or the Eiffel Tower. But unless you have the right technology that allows your guests to make reservations, helps you communicate with them and deliver your amazing product or service, you will not be able to navigate in today’s fierce competition.
A hotel tech stack is the bridge that connects your hotel to the marketplace, your potential hotel guests, and everything in between. It will help you increase your direct bookings, connect with multiple OTAs and booking engines, and optimize your revenue management system.

A hotel tech stack consists of many different elements. A PMS (property management system) is one of the most key solutions every hotelier should have.

Consider asking these questions if you’re just getting started-

- What do you need in your hotel tech stack?
- What are the features you are looking for in your PMS?
- What system can solve a problem for you?

Using a cloud-based software enables you to connect your PMS to different distribution channels like OTAs and booking engines. Moreover, it enables you to connect your accounting and operational tools.

It’s critical to choose the right tools as they can be a game changer for your hotel and increase your revenue significantly.
In this video, we will share 11 pro tips about channel management with you. We will highlight the

challenges of using a channel manager and more importantly, how you can optimize your existing setup.
Now, when it comes to online distribution for hotels there is a range of complexities that come with it. You need to ensure that you have an effective and optimal setup in place to automate as much as possible to benefit most from technology-driven solutions.
When starting with an integration project, you need to identify the stakeholders and understand their responsibilities.
Consider asking questions like –
What is your role?
What does your channel management provider deliver?
What does the PMS do?
Who is responsible in your team for maintaining the collaboration with your channel management provider?

Ideally, you should consider working with a channel management partner that helps you run your channel manager seamlessly and without any hassle.
In addition, it is important to identify the right platform for your property. For instance, there are various platforms where you can distribute your inventory including international OTAs, a global distribution system, national or regional platforms as well as niche platforms. The best way to choose the right platform is to focus on a specific type of traveler. Access and control are critical in any Software business, especially in transactional platforms like a channel manager. The more control you have on your channel manager, the less dependent you are on your provider.
On top of this, you need to understand how your channel manager handles booking rules and conditions but also auto-replenish when a booking gets cancelled.
Finally, it’s important to pay close attention to your data security policies and ensure you comply with PCI and GDPR to avoid any risk to you company and to do the right thing for your guests.
Make sure that you discuss these things with your channel management provider and optimize your channel manager for more convenience and seamless online sales.
An interview with Sebastian Küchler, a Swiss Hospitality Solutions consultant who shares his know-know and expertise on implementing a smart direct booking strategy at hotels.
In this new AYHT video, Sebastian Küchler talks about the most important aspects, key steps and tools involved when implementing, optimizing and maximizing a direct hotel booking strategy. He explains the best tips and how to avoid the most common mistakes when improving a direct booking strategy.

He mentions the main systems and booking tools needed: a website and a booking engine integrated with PMS using a channel manager. He also details the meaning of online key search terms and meta-search integration as well as the best way to attract the right visitors to your website in order to convert them into direct guests. He further explains the key concept of best price available for your website, the role of OTAs in the online booking game and why both room and price level aspects should be considered in any smart direct booking strategy implementation.

He also explores the creativity challenge when designing the most suitable direct booker incentives for your guests in accordance with your own hotel model.

QUESTIONS:
What is a direct booking strategy?
Why should a hotel have a direct booking strategy?
Why is it not a good idea for hotels to just give all sales and marketing responsibilities over to OTAs?
What tools are needed to enable direct booking?
How does META search work?
What is your focus when implementing a direct booking strategy with a hotel?
What incentives can I offer to guests without lowering the price?
What is your experience with Pay-Per-Click advertisement?
What can we learn from OTAs?
